2023 election: Orbih’s faction submerges Gov Obaseki’s in Edo PDP

The South-South Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dan Orbih has edged out the Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki , in the intrigues of the party as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) displayed the names of candidates of his faction.

INEC, on Tuesday, released the list comprising all the candidates of all political parties vying for elective offices in the general elections scheduled for next year.

Recall that there has been a long-running battle on who are the authentic candidates of PDP in Edo State after both factions conducted parallel primaries to produce candidates for all the elected offices for the 2023 general elections.

However, in the twist of events that may have quelled the fracas and internally wrangling in the Edo state ruling party, INEC stated that their actions leverage on the decision of the court.
