Ondo Amotekun nab 30-year-old for killing girlfriend, parade 44 others

A 30-year-old man, Seun Ojo, has been arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun for killing his girlfriend for not giving him attention. The suspect said he killed his girlfriend, Enny when she started ignoring him and giving attention to other men.
The incident happened in Owo, Headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. Ojo, who was paraded with 44 other suspected criminals at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure, the state capital, accused the late Enny of engaging in prostitution. He said that he had been having issues with Enny for some time before the incident happened.
“My girlfriend’s name is Enny, she is a prostitute who always comes to Ikare Junction in Owo. I shot her after I noticed that she gives other men more attention than me.
“We have been having issues for a while now. That particular day she repeated what I warned her against and I became furious and I shot her. But she did not die. I learnt that she is in hospital.

“I’m not a cultist, and I have never shot anyone in my life. The gun that I used on her belongs to my father who is a hunter. My father uses the gun to hunt and kill animals.”
The Operatives also paraded forty-four criminals for different offences who were arrested for different offences ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, illegal possession of fire arms, attempted murder and rape among others. Among the forty-four were six members of a gang who specialise in kidnapping in Ore area of the state.
The Amotekun Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, revealed that in the course of cleansing the Sunshine State of crimes, the corps arrested suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, and rapists among others. Adetunji said the six suspects who specialise in kidnapping normally hypnotize their victims before kidnapping them.
He added that two suspects who attempted to kidnap a businesswoman in the Akoko area of the state were also paraded, adding that some suspects were also paraded for allegedly snatching of motorbikes and attempted murder in Oba-Akoko area.
According to the Corps Commander, the suspects usually killed their victims after snatching their motorbikes and subsequently dismantle the same for onward transfer to Ogun State and other neighbouring states as spare parts. He reiterated that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu led-administration would not relent in its determination to rid the state of undesirable criminals.
He further implored the people of the state to join hands with all security agencies in the state to rid the state of criminals, announcing that the current slogan is “See something, say something.” He emphasized that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations on them have been concluded.
