Okowa assures Deltans of projects completion1

Governor. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has said his government is focused and will not abandon any project at the end of his tenure he assures.

Okowa disclosed this during the 2021 Quarterly Media Interaction with News Men across the state at the Government House Asaba.

In his address, Governor Okowa Commended Journalists across the state for the level of Cooperation in ensuring adequate and truthful reportage and also being good partners in projecting and sustaining the Delta state government.

Okowa who promised to complete all ongoing projects in the state added the completion of the multi-billion Naira secretariat complex and the subsequent commissioning of the project by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is an indication that his government would not abandon any project.

Okowa stated that despite the economic challenges in the country, his administration has been able to carry out numerous ongoing projects and that he will ensure the completion of all projects during his tenure.

In his words “we have continued to stay focused on our promises to Deltans and we wish that we could have gone faster than we are doing at the moment but unfortunately our resources have continued to go higher every day.

However, we will continue to stay focused and make sure we deliver those projects and to God be the glory, one of the projects the new state-of-the-arts-secretariat was commissioned by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. The implication of that is that the various agencies of the government will have to be relocated to the new secretariat.

“Now that we have all our ministries in one roof, it will give room for greater coordination of workflow and it will also be of great help to our people who are visiting for one thing or the other, will not have to journey from one place to the other in search of services in different ministries”.

He added that there are so many other key projects that work is still ongoing and he is committed to ensuring their completion The Trumpet gathered.

While reacting to numerous questions from newsmen across the state, Okowa said that there are no direct stands of Governors on Fuel subsidy being a decision that has to be taken by the Federal government according to the constitution. He added that there is presently complexity in the economy of this nation and that the current policy is for the best of our dear nation, Nigeria.

On the issues of the farmers that lost thousands of birds in their farms due to bird flu (Oghenejaname farms limited located at Ekrerhavwe Agbaroh, Iyanda farm in Orereokpe, he promised his government will support those affected financially according to the government’s capacity, emphasizing that government will not take the full financial responsibility.
