By CHARLES ONYEKWERE, ABAKILIKI

Apex Igbo Socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, has Lauded the unprecedented eight years transformation of Engr David Umahi in Ebonyi state, saying he is a rallying point for Ndigbo.

A statement signed on Monday by its Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu lsiguzoro, said considering the state’s meagre resources, Umahi has constructed over 13 flyovers, dual carriage roads across the state and opened ultra-modern Ebonyi State International Airport.

According to the statement, Ohanaeze Ndigbo totally concurs with Prince Arthur Eze that Umahi is a saviour to Ebonyi State.

Ohanaeze recall that Arthur Eze made the statement known last week while Commissioning an 18-span flyover at Abaomege junction, in Onicha Local Government Area named after him by the present administration in the State.

“Prophetically, the Anambra State-born business magnate and philanthropist said, “God brought this man as a saviour and he has changed the face of Ebonyi State, I could not recognise Abakaliki again, God gave him the vision, one day he will become the President of this Country.”

“We are convinced that Umahi is a God-given saviour, not just to Ebonyi but to Ndigbo and indeed Nigeria.

“In the absence of Ikemba Ojukwu and Dr Alex Ekwueme, Umahi in his position as Chairman, South East Governors’ Forum has become a rallying point for Ndigbo.

“Umahi is set to be the face of Ndigbo in the incoming Government, based on his loyalty to the President-Elect, Senator Bola Tinubu, which made him forego his Senate Presidency ambition unlike others still fighting the President-Elect and the party.

“Therefore, Ohanaeze Ndigbo based on his unimpeachable achievements and visionary leadership, recognizes Umahi as the new political leader of Ndigbo, in this incoming dispensation.

The apex body urged Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu and other Igbo politicians, especially those of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, to fall in place behind him in the greater Igbo interest.
