NULGE to hold conference in Bayelsa

The National Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE) has said that the union is ready to hold its 7th quadrennial state delegates conference next month.

In a statement signed by the state secretary of the Union Dr Ferguson Onuegbu and made available to newsmen in Uyo on Saturday, the 7th quadrennial Delegates Conference will be hosted at Golden Tulip Hotel, Onoja in Yenogoa Bayelsa state capital.

Onuegbu disclosed that the climax conference would be the election of state leaders of the union in Bayelsa state.

He said the National President of NULGE Akeem Ambali would lead other National Officers to supervise the election of new Bayelsa state leaders who would spearhead affairs of the union for four years.

The statement reads in parts: ” During the conference, new leadership of the union who would pilot affairs of the union in the next four years shall be elected through a democratic process while Bayelsa governor senator Douye Diri and NULGE national president Comrade Ambali Akeem will witness proceedings at the congress.”

He therefore urged all members of NULGE to attend the epoch-making Congress and exercise their franchise to promote labour movement in the state.
