The Lagos State Government has acquired two new Talgo Intra-City Ten Coach metropolitan trains for the Red Line Metro Project.

The new trains have been set on transit to Lagos.

The Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, disclose that the newly acquired intra-city trains that were supposed to connect Madison and Milwaukee in Wisconsin, United States, are now headed for Lagos State to transverse the eight stations in the 37 Kilometres Red Line on completion.

However, the train will also ply the Oyingbo and Agbado route to help ameliorate the stress caused by the Lagos road gridlocks.

”Today, I inspected our newly acquired Talgo Intra-City Ten Coach metropolitan trains, for our Red Line Metro project in Lagos.

“These new trains which were originally intended to connect Madison and Milwaukee in the United States, are now headed for Lagos state.

“The 37 kilometres Red Line Project on completion will traverse eight stations and move passengers from Agbado to Oyingbo,” he said.

Affirmatively, the governor assured that the project will be duly completed as concerted efforts have been put in to ensure all the relevant infrastructures, such as the train stations, are completed to standard in due time.

“We have completed the deal for the acquisition of the trains and we are ramping up the completion of the ancillary infrastructure like the train stations.
