National Secretary, Obinna Achonye, said this in a congratulatory message issued on Friday in Abuja and made available to The Trumpet.

Achonye said the pair of former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates of the PDP for the 2023 elections respectively, will salvage the country and make Nigerians proud.

He pledged the support of the Igbo youths, saying that Gov Okowa is part of the Igbo extraction. According to him, “The leadership of Ohaneze Youth Council received with joy the emergence of Atiku Abubakar and Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as President and Vice President.

We see it as a restoration journey to overhaul the polity and redirect the vehicle of the leadership of Nigeria to where Nigerians will be proud of their own country “While we congratulate them we reassure Nigerians that we will never succumb to the fiction of sentimental politics as unemployment, insecurity, and poverty have no tribe and religion. “We reassure Nigerians of our unalloyed support to AtikuOkowa ticket as Dr Ifeanyi is and remains one of our own.

We are thrilled to get the news of this political elevation and we are hopeful that this marks the beginning of good things to come not only among Ohaneze youths but Nigerian youths as a whole “If leadership is the human capacity and the will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character to inspire confidence, then Nigerians should get ready for a better thing to come.

“Finally Ohaneze appeal to Nigerians to pray for Atiku AbubakarIfeanyi Okowa for the task ahead is enormous.”
