NPFL: Draws dominate matchday 23 results

MatchDay23 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) was dominated by a series of draws with Dakkada and Shooting Stars escaping the omen with 2-1 and 3-0 home wins respectively.
Enugu Rangers hosted Sunshine Stars of Akure and played a barren draw to maintain its 3rd position with 38 points on the NPFL table while Sunshine Stars stayed on 6th above Akwa United, which drew with Gombe United, with 33 points.
Kano Pillars welcomed Katsina United to Sani Abacha Stadium with a goalless draw after it was granted provisional approval by the League Management Company (LMC).

In Kaduna, Kwara United earned their own away point after holding hosts Wikki Tourists to a 1-1 draw. Former CHAN Eagles star Abubakar Aliyu and Abdulsalam Abdulsalam scored for the host and away teams respectively.
Reigning champions Akwa United continued their unbeaten start with new coach Deji Ayeni after earning a deserving 1-1 draw at Gombe United.
However, a stunning result for relegation-threatened side Abia Warriors, saw them play out a 1-1 draw to maintain a point below 15th place Dakkada with a game in hand.
Plateau United also joined the winning streak after they defeated visiting MFM 2-0 to cut the points difference with the top-spot residents Rivers United to one.
