Nigerians can’t continue to live in mutual suspicion – Obi

A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi has lamented the level at which Nigerians are presently divided along ethnic and religious lines and resolved that Nigerians can no longer leave in mutual suspicious of each other.
He said the country needs a president who can unify the numerous ethnic groups across the country.
The president of Nigeria needs in 2023, according to him must be a unifier because the country has been badly divided. Obi who spoke in Abuja at the inauguration of national, zonal, and state coordinators of the Peter Obi Support Network yesterday said that the country can’t move forward when there is no trust among citizens.
He said, “we can’t continue to leave in mutual suspicious of each other in this country, we must love each other, we must build a country where everybody is treated fairly, equally, and Justly.
“There is nothing to share again, let start taking people out of poverty, once you are able to take people out of poverty, you can go home and rest.
“I am pleading with you people to continue to work, you are not only working for Peter Obi , but for the betterment of the nation.” The presidential aspirant expressed his readiness to make Nigeria a more united country and improve on living conditions of citizenry by alleviating poverty and creating wealth, The Trumpet gathered.
He said as a governor of Anambra State, he took the state from number 26 to number one in education and provided good health care in the state.
“When I was campaigning to become governor of Anambra, I said when I become the governor, there will be difference , Anambra was number 26 in the country in the education sector, but I took the state to number one position, I built quality health care for the people of the state when I was the governor,” he said.
After the his remarks, the former governor inaugurated coordinators for the Support Network group for his Presidential aspiration to take the message to the nook and cranny of Nigeria.
