NDLEA Operatives Arrest Drug Trafficker, Recover Cocaine Worth N3.1bn in Lagos

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested a suspected drug trafficker along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, recovering cocaine substance with street value of N3.1 billion.

The operation was carried out following a tip-off given to operatives of the Agency attached to its Lagos Command.

Sources at the Agency office in Lagos told The Trumpet, that the suspect is being quizzed to track other accomplices linked to the drug cartel.

However, the Chairman of the drug-fighting Agency, Brigadier-General Buba Marwa (retd), has warned personnel of the Agency never to compromise any drug trafficker in their effort to rid the country of illegal narcotic substances.

Investigation carried out by The Trumpet revealed that more teenagers are being recruited by drug barons to traffic hard drugs, both through land borders and all the major Airports in the country.

Investigation further revealed that in their bid to beat security at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, drug traffickers now device new mode of operation to use the Lagos-Badagry Road, enroute Republic of Benin, before jetting out of the country to their major destination.
