The President, Nigeria Private Sector Alliance (NPSA), Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, had commended President Muhammadu Buhari for nominating Dr. Paul Adalikwu, a well-seasoned technocrat with vast experience in administration, for appointment as the Executive Secretary, Maritime Organization of West and Central Africa, MOWCA.

Kayode on Wednesday in Abuja said that Dr. Adalikwu will bring his wealth of experience to the fore, noting that his appointment is best defined as a round peg in a round hole.

In a statement, he noted that Dr. Adalikwu taking over the helms of affairs as Executive Secretary, MOWCA, is of great advantage to the development of the maritime sector in Nigeria and Africa.

According to Kayode who is also the Vice President, Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI), stressed that the organized private sectors are indeed excited, noting that Adalikwu exudes the dynamic competence and practical knowledge needed to move the sector to greater heights.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Kayode said, “he has state, national and international exposure and very rare has any person been more competent for this assignment.

“The organized private sector in Africa and indeed Nigeria is very appreciative of President Muhammadu Buhari for this nomination and support for the emergence of the new executive secretary.

“We have no doubt Dr Adalikwu will make a world of difference in this position to ensure the development of the maritime sector in West and Central Africa.

“We know the new executive secretary is aware of the clear and urgent need to bring up to speed the maritime sector for the purpose of realising the critical objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

“The development of the African Maritime sector is key to our realisation of the noble ideals of AfCFTA.

“Dr Adalikwu’s position will now go to support the leading and dynamic roles Dr Akinwumi Adesina, President of the AfDB and Prof. Oramah, President of the AFREXIM Bank are playing in bringing socio-economic development to Africa,’’ Kayode added.

Kayode also extended his appreciative note to the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and Sen. Gbemi Saraki, while stating that the organized private sector will continue provide the needed support geared towards promoting the country’s economic growth.
