By Suru Charles

Plans by the Adamawa state government to connect more communities of the state to the national grid were said to have been concluded.

The state commissioner of Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Dr Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, who stated this yesterday, said the communities to be linked with the national grid are situated in Michika and Mubi North local government councils.

The Commissioner who The Trumpet noticed to have visited the communities, listed them to include Bahuli ward community in Mubi North and Bariki-Dlaka, Voka-Gye, and Dlaka amongst other communities in Michika council.

Stressing that governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration is committed to community-driven development, he beckoned the people of the communities, to give the much-needed helping hands to the governor to complete the project.

The governor, according to him, is committed to ensuring that most of the rural dwellers in the state are connected to the national grid before the end of his tenure.

While defending the budget last November, it would be recalled that the aforementioned commissioner restated the governor’s commitment to providing more social amenities, especially to the rural communities of the state.

He reassured them that more electrification and rural road projects will be carried out within the mandate of the 2022 ‘Budget of Sustainable Hope’.

The projects which are already ongoing, as observed by our state correspondent, are billed to be completed in the next few weeks.

Some residents of the benefitting communities who spoke with The Trumpet believed that if eventually completed, it would go a long way to improve the economic status of the affected communities.

Reiterating their readiness to protect the projects from vandals, the community dwellers vowed to eschew acts that would frustrate the projects from being completed.
