Owo terror attacks: Catholic Church announces date for mass burial

The Catholic Diocese of Ondo has announced Friday, June 17, 2022, as the date for mass burial of victims of the terror attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to the church, 40 people were killed in the attack, and many others were injured. The Diocese of Ondo’s Director of Social Communication, Rev. Fr. Augustine Ikwu, announced this to The Trumpet on Monday.

According to the director, the mass burial would take place at a new cemetery on Emure Road in Owo. As of the time of filing this report, no one has been apprehended in relation to the attack; the injured victims were still at the Federal Medical Center and St. Louis Catholic Church both in Owo as well as other private hospitals in the state receiving treatment.
