Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Afolabi Babatola, has again assured the people of the state of adequate security before, during and after the swearing-in of the state governor on May 29, 2023.
The Commissioner who made this known through the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Sulaiman Nguroje, also vowed to leave no stone unturned in rescuing the two pastors that were recently abducted by unknown gunmen.
Both Rev Mike Ochigbo and Pastor John Moses, as gathered by The Trumpet, were said to have been kidnapped at different locations in the early hours of Wednesday in the state.
The Commissioner noted that the command has been working round the clock to get them released unhurt and pledged not to relent pending when the clerics regained their freedoms.
The command, according to him, will not leave any stone unturned until the two persons are rescued and their assailants apprehended.
The Commissioner, as further made known by the PPRO, “has deployed operatives of the Command drawn from the Special Rapid Response Team (SRRT), Crack Squad and other Tactical Squads to carry out a tactical and intelligence-driven 24/7 operation on Criminal Hideouts and Black Spots to rescue the kidnapped victims, as well as arrest the suspects and their sponsors who move around disrupting the peace in the state.”

The Commissioner was said to have also directed all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Operational Commanders and their Supervisory Area Commanders to personally lead the operations in their respective Areas of responsibility (AOR) to ensure total domination of the public space and arrest troublemakers.
He re-emphasized the commitment and determination of the Command in ensuring the safety of lives and property.
However, to bring this to reality, the people, as suggested by the Commissioner, must give much-needed support and cooperation to the officers and men of the command.
He said the “commissioner solicits full cooperation from members of the public particularly Political leaders urging them to advise their supporters to shun all forms of violence and key into the Command’s effort in maintaining peace.”
