Manchester City defeat R’Madrid in a 7-goal CL thriller

Manchester City has beaten Real Madrid 4-3 in the first leg of the semifinal of the UEFA Champions League.

An early minute goal from the Belgian Kevin De Bruyne and a second by Gabriel Jesus were able to hand Manchester City a lead over Los Blancos in the first half.

The Carlo Ancelotti side, who displaced Chelsea in the quarterfinal, responded to Pep Guardiola’s team in search of their first European elite trophy through Karim Benzema to end the first 45 minutes on a 2-1 scoreline.

Real Madrid and Manchester City have met seven times in Champions League history, today’s inclusive, with the English side that once tallied the same number of wins edging the Spanish giants by one today.

Both teams have drawn twice from records but Madrid in the three seasons they have clashed with the Blues of Manchester, have won two of the three on aggregates.

Consequently, the second half recorded four extra goals to end the match in a 4-3 win for Manchester City as they prepare for the return leg at Santiago Bernabeu.
