Lawmaker donates relief materials to inmates, orphanage homes, others in Ebonyi

Member House of Representatives, representing lkwo/ Ezza South federal constituency of Ebonyi state, Hon Chinedu Ogar, has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to various correctional centres, orphanage homes and Artisans across the state.
The donation is part of the activities lined up to mark his 47th birthday and commissioning of projects on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023 at his country home, Ohatekwe, Amagu in Ikwo local government Area.
The relief materials include; food Items, clothes and toiletries for orphanage homes, Artisans and inmates in Abakaliki and Afikpo Correctional Centres in Ebonyi State.
Ogah was accompanied by his numerous party supporters, elders and youths. On Wednesday, he also visited the Yoruba, Hausa and Fulani Communities.
The visitation starts from the Artisans workers at Pa Ngele Oruta Township stadium in Abakiliki to Old People’s Home, after which he visited Orphanage home where he equally marked his birthday with the less Privilege.
Speaking at the different events, the ranking lawmaker encouraged the destitute, inmates and others, never to lose hope as it is not a place of punishment but a place of corrections.

He appreciated them for voting for candidates of the All Progressives Congress party APC, including President Ahmed Bola Asiwaju Tinubu, as well as the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru, and himself, Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ogah as Member, Federal House of Representatives Ikwo/Ezza-South federal constituency.
Ogah further said “All of you should know that being here does not mean that your own has finished, it is a moment of trial, and it is for you to redefine your future. I was once here for six months for an offence I don’t know, but when I came out of here, I learned a lot of things, I made new friends, and this place made me understand different kinds of offences.
“I am here to encourage you not to be depressed but to forgive. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was in prison and when he was released, he became the President of Nigeria.
“Nelson Mandela was in prison for many years and came out to become the President of South Africa. So, most of the great leaders you know today were once in prison.
The Comptroller, Nigeria Correctional Service in Ebonyi State, Mr Chigbata Anthony (Abakaliki), Mr Aneke Stephen (Afikpo), and the Vice Chairman Hausa Community, Alhaji Idris Deti, thanked the Nigerian Government for reformation being seen in Correctional Centers today in the Country.
They appreciated Ogah for always remembering the prison inmates, Yoruba, Hausa Communities and others.
Speaking with members of the press, some of the beneficiaries applauded Ogah’s philanthropy, stating that he is the only leader from Ebonyi State who remembers them yearly, pledging their support and prayers for him at all times.
