Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been named the Premier League manager of the season for putting up an impressive performance with the Reds who superbly fought for a quadruple finish.
Klopp, who guided Liverpool to double successes in FA Cup and Carabao Cup glories, engineered a quadruple campaign which narrowly slipped from their sights after finishing a point below PL winners Manchester City.
Notwithstanding the quadruple miss by Jurgen Klopp’s side, which is the closest feat any Premier League club has ever attained in history, Liverpool is still in a position to record a season’s treble after Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Paris.
The former Borussia Dortmund head coach, Klopp, since coming to Liverpool has redefined the mentality of the Reds from a struggling top-four side to a league-dominant side, attributing his successes at the club to the coaching crew and players.
Consequent to receiving the Premier League manager of the season award, Klopp emphasised that the last matchday was nervy but they have able to surpass the challenges.
“It is a great honour and it was an insane season. The last matchday when only two games were meaningless and, in the rest, we all played for absolutely everything,” Klopp said on receiving the season’s PL manager award.
“It was a bit nervy, it wasn’t the best outcome for us, but we are already over it. And when you win a prize like this you are either a genius, or you have the best coaching staff in the world – I am here with four of my coaching staff, and they know how much I appreciate them,” Klopp added.

In addition to winning the Premier League manager of the season award, Liverpool manager also emerged as the winner of the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy after being nominated by a majority of the managers in all English division leagues.
The excited Klopp said, “This being voted for by my colleagues is obviously the most important prize you can get.
“I don’t believe in individual prizes in football generally, it is a team sport and I would be nothing without these boys there. It is all about what we can do together and what we did together,” Klopp added.
Sir Alex Ferguson, a former Manchester United boss who retired in 2013, on announcing the winner of the award, said, “This is agony, it’s absolute agony…Jurgen Klopp.”
Liverpool are still in the position to crown their season’s campaign with a UEFA Champions League triumph over Real Madrid, on Saturday, in Paris, to complement their quadruple miss with a treble win.
