By Isaac Job

Stakeholders from Oniong West ward in Onna council area of Akwa Ibom state where former Chief of Staff to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Akparawa Ephraim Inyangeyen comes from have disassociated themselves from the political ambition of their son describing it as political suicide for swimming against the tide of zoning in the area.

It was gathered that Ephraim Inyangeyen has clinched the ticket of Young Peoples Party (YPP) to contest for Akwa Ibom south senatorial district against the PDP zoning arrangement which does not favour his area in the 2023 general election.

In a meeting held over the weekend at Ikot Ebiere, Onna local government area, the people resolved that since 1999, the area has always embraced PDP and was not ready to be led astray by emergency politicians from another political party.

The people described the senatorial ambition of the former Chief of Staff as a self-seeking ambition and vowed to stand by the existing zoning of PDP to uphold fairness and equity in the allocation of political values and privileges in the senatorial district.
