Katsina Police Command repel terrorists’ attack at Gago village

Operatives of the Kastina police command had foiled terrorist attack targeted at Gago village Dutsinma Local government area of the state.

During the operation terrorists numbering about forty had stormed the village on motorbikes, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles and rustled fifty cows belonging to one Alhaji Ibrahim Maikudi, ‘M’.

The Area Commander, Dutsinma, consequently led a team of Policemen to the area, engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel, successfully repelled the terrorists and neutralized one of them.

The operational strategy and gallantry displayed by the team made the terrorists to abandoned their heinous mission and fled the scene. In the course of scanning the scene, one AK 47 rifle with five rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and all the fifty rustled cows were recovered. Many terrorists escaped the scene with gun shots wounds. Search Parties are still combing the area to arrest the fleeing terrorists. Members of the community are enjoined to report to the nearest security formation any person found with suspicious injury, The Trumpet gathered.

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, commended the efforts of the personnel in repelling the terrorists.

He assures members of the public that the police will continue to deal with the recalcitrant terrorists in the country. He urged them to continue to cooperate with security agencies in the ongoing onslaught against terrorism in the state.

In another development, the command succeeded in busting a syndicate of human traffickers and rescued fifteen human trafficking victims consisting of eight females and seven males. Nemesis caught up with the syndicate when they were accosted at Baraji Quarters, Daura Local government area, conveying the victims bound for Niger Republic/Libia, upon sighting the Police the driver abandoned the victims and took to his heels and ran into the bush.

The victims rescued include; Rafiat Ogunnekone ‘f’ aged 22 years old of Adodo Ogun state, Razaq Temitope ‘f’ aged 22 years old of Ondo state, Chidinma Ngozie ‘f’ aged 19 years old of Imo state, Christopher Moses ‘m’ aged 28 years of Delta state, Bridget Igiebor ‘f’ aged 24 years of Edo state, Chiwendi Nsonwu ‘m’ aged 27 years old of Imo state, Grace Emmanuel ‘f’ aged 25 years old of Edo state, Showemimo, Rogeebat ‘f’ aged 18 years old of Lagos state, Chiwendo Chinweowu ‘f’ aged 19 years old Imo state, Idowu Jomoloju ‘f’ aged 27 years old of Lagos, Oseribhor, Desting ‘m’ aged 24 years old of Abuja, Ulunwa Gospel Ngozie ‘m’ aged 22 years of Imo state, Salam Salim ‘m’ aged 22 years old Edo state, Prince David ‘m’ aged 22 years old of Edo state and Chibozor Amadi ‘m’ aged 30 years old of Abia state.

The team succeeded and recovered the abandoned motor vehicle, Golf III, Wagon, dark green in colour and unregistered. Effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and investigation is ongoing.
