Huesca terminates Kelechi Nwakali’s contract

Spanish Segunda division club, SD Huesca has terminated the contract of Nigeria player, Kelechi Nwakali with immediate effect.
SD Huesca announced through its official social media handle that the contract which was due to expire in June 2022 has been terminated.
Nwakali, who captained the Nigeria U17 team to victory in the 2015 U17 World Cup, winning the Golden Boot of the event, signed a three years contract with Arsenal after his exceptional performance in Chile.
The midfielder having succeeded with the Green Eagles in 2015, was promoted to the ranks of the Flying Eagles. He made appearances on 7 different occasions for the team while netting two goals in the process, The Trumpet gathered.
The club’s statement confirming the determination of his contract reads: “OFFICIAL | SD Huesca terminates Kelechi Nwakali’s contract.

“The club ends the contractual relationship that linked the Barça entity with the footballer, and which expired in June 2022,” the statement ended.
Kelechi Nwakali has been having a series of battles with the club after he returned late from the Africa Cup of Nations to the club on health grounds to the point that Spanish Players Union has to rise in his defence citing that the club committed a procedural breach.
