Joel-Onowakpo confers with Idudu of Emede title

The Delta South Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas has been conferred with a chieftaincy title by the Ovie of Emede Kingdom, HRM Johnson Egbo, Ewhiri II as the ‘Idudu’ of Emede Kingdom.

His Royal Majesty said Joel-Onowakpo was conferred with the title to honour him for his immense contribution towards the growth and development of Emede community.

In a statement by Ewhiri in his palace, he said the former chairman of Delta Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) has always extricated himself from the meritorious recognition but today, he has been outsmarted and honoured accordingly.

Meanwhile, the Idudu of Emede Kingdom said he was overwhelmed by the honour. He added that he thought he was coming to the palace to mark the new year with the King but unknowingly to him a chieftaincy title was presented instead.

It would be recalled that Joel-Onowakpo contributed immensely to the development of the community by employing graduates into pensionable jobs and influenced numerous government projects as chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue (DBIR) and States Coordinator of Federal Inland Revenue (FIRS).

Jeol-Onowakpo thanked the Ovie, Chiefs, and the people of Emede Kingdom for the recognition, adding that he is encouraged to do more for the community.
