Islamic Cleric Arrested with Human Head Died In Police Custody

The 55 year old self-acclaimed Islamic cleric, Tunde Olayiwola arrested with fresh human head in Ondo by men of the Ondo State Police Command has died in police custody three days after his arrest.

Tunde Olayiwola was paraded alongside 8 others suspects arrested for various criminal offences ranging from murder, kidnapping and cultism on Thursday December 23rd, 2021 at the command headquarters in Akure.

A police source who spoke on anonymity told The Trumpet that the cleric who was apprehended at Ajagbale Area of Oka, Ondo town slump at the Special Anti-cultist Section of the state police command, located along Federal University of Technology, Akure(FUTA) road in Akure.

The source said it was in the process of interrogating him that he slumped and was rushed to the police clinic along Igbatoro road in Akure where he was placed on oxygen.

“Unfortunately, he gave up the ghost. His corpse has been deposited at the mortuary”, the source added.

Recall that the Trumpet has earlier reported that the new Commissioner of Police in the state, Oyeyemi Oyediran, while parading the suspect on Thursday said: “On the 23rd of December, 2021, at about 0920hrs, the Police received an information that a self acclaimed cleric named Alfa Tunde Olayiwola, a suspected ritualist was about to receive a consignment suspected to be a Human head. A fresh human head was found in his custody”.

Oyediran said the police also arrested a hunter, Ismaila Ojo, for shooting a 70 years old man who is his neighbour while defecating in the bush at the back of his house.
