Residents of Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, have again been thrown into confusion following an explosion that on Tuesday rocked the city. The blast which is suspected to be bomb explosion, occured at about 9p.m close to the military base which is located in the heart of the city.
The explosion, as noticed by The Trumpet, is coming barely a month to that of Iware community in Ardo-Kola council where several lives were lost, with many others sustaining various degrees of injuries. At the time of filing this report the number of casualties could not be ascertained.

Confirming the report, the state police command through its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi, told our reporter that he heard the sound and that he has confirmed that it was an explosion, but could not ascertain the number of casualties.
He however promised to furnish our reporter with details of information as soon as they are made available to the command.
The explosion, as observed by our state correspondent, is the third in the state within one and half month . The first which occurred barely three days after that of Iware, did not claim lives, but inflicted various degrees of injuries on several persons.
