I have what it takes to succeed Buhari – Ohuabunwa

The Convener of the New Nigeria Group(NNG), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, seeking to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), has declared that his chances of getting the party’s ticket are very bright and as such he is certain of achieving his ambition.

He made the declaration while on a consultative visit to the Edo State PDP at the party’s headquarter in Benin City on Wednesday.

Going by his reasons of wanting to succeed President Buhari in 2023, the erstwhile Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group(NESG) and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria(MAN) harped on his experience gained from his numerous travels outside the country whereby countries that do not have the huge human and mineral resources that Nigeria is blessed with are moving up the ladder of development in comparison to the contrary situation that is being witnessed in Nigeria.

He said that he decided to signify his interest going by the economic deprivation and insecurity among many troubles under the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) of President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigerians are passing through.

Mazi Ohuabunwa stressed that he has all the qualities that are needed from anybody wanting to lead the country to an era of prosperity.

He affirmed that his choice of party, the PDP, is informed by the fact that the party, judging from its past achievements while in control of the central government, has a grasp of how to solve the numerous problems bedeviling the country.

Leading members of the state executive of the PDP to receive the presidential hopeful, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the Chairman of the party said that Mazi Ohuabunwa’s pedigree speaks volumes of his capabilities to solve Nigeria’s myriad of problems if he gets elected as the President.

He assured Mazi Ohuabunwa that he will have the support of the party’s delegates at its forthcoming national convention where its presidential candidate will be chosen.

Among the state executives of the PDP in attendance at the consultative meeting were the Vice-Chairman Edo South District, Harrison Omagbon, State Publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, and State Organising Secretary, Tony Anenih Jnr.
