Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Law School have brokered a fresh partnership. It is aimed at reviving the journal, Economic Crimes Law Report.
A statement by the spokesperson of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, said the Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa made the proposal to a delegation from Nigeria Law School led by the Director General, Professor Isah Hayatu Chiroma.
“Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa hinted at this new-fangled initiative on Monday, June 6, 2022, when a delegation from the Nigeria Law School, led by its Director General, Professor Isah Hayatu Chiroma, SAN, paid him a Courtesy Visit at the EFCC’s corporate headquarters in Abuja,” Uwujaren said.

He further stated that the EFCC boss noted that the agency has been instrumental to the development of law in Nigeria and wants the two institutions to partner to achieve more positive strides.
Bawa was quoted to have said, “I am not aware of any institution of government that has contributed to the development of law in Nigeria in the last fifteen years (15) other than the EFCC. Last year alone, we secured two thousand, two hundred and twenty convictions (2,220), and this year, we have on record more than one thousand five hundred convictions thus far.”
Earlier, Prof Chiroma expressed appreciation to the EFCC for reposing confidence in the Law School in the area of documenting economic and financial crimes cases. He commended the EFCC for its record of convictions and sought more commitments to “training and retraining of staff.”
