HoR 2023: Onoyona consults Emede monarch, gets royal blessings

Ahead of the 2023 general election, Dr Sylvester Onoyona, the House of Representatives candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Isoko Federal Constituency, received royal blessings from the Ovie of Emede Kingdom, HRM Johnson Egbo, Ewhiri II.

Speaking when he paid a consultative visit to the traditional ruler, Onoyona said his mission was to seek for prayers and obtain royal blessings from the monarch and solicit for his support for his aspiration for the House of Representatives seat.

Accompanied by members of his campaign organization and supporters, Onoyona reiterated his preparedness to give effective, equitable and qualitative representation to the constituents and agitate for more constituencies for the Isoko nation.

He assured the monarch that aside from his legislative duties, he will bring empowerments to the youths and women and will constantly holding town hall meetings with the constituents instead of some few leaders called godfathers.

He promised that his covenant with Isoko nation will be youth development, 200 small scale business creation scheme, free money/grant for women and business, free vocational training and business establishment, security and support for local vigilante groups, free books for primary and secondary schools, legislation to support local mobile healthcare services and also to attract federal project to Isoko nation.

He further stated since Isoko people have tried PDP for the past 24 years and has failed, Isoko should try APC this time around.

“We have been left behind in the scheme of things as an ethnic group, Isoko has delivered PDP for 24 years but there is nothing to show for it. Our roads are in deplorable conditions, he stated.

He admonished the people of Emede community and Isoko nation to look beyond political parties and vote for him during the general election come 2023.

Responding, the Ovie of Emede kingdom, HRM Johnson Egbo Ewhiri commended Dr Sylvester Onoyona for coming out boldly to contest for the position, saying his motive is good by taking the right step in the right direction.

He appealed to Emede people to try everything possible to support Dr Sylvester Onoyona’s ambition ans charged everyone to get their voter’s card in order to vote for the right candidate.

“There is no doubt that Isoko is suffering today and that is as a result of bad representatives from the Federal to the State.

“Let us support and vote for the right and credible candidates in Isoko both for House of Representatives, Assembly, Senate and others”, HRM Johnson Egbo Ewhiri stated.

He prayed for the actualization of his House of Representatives’ ambition as he expressed optimism that if Dr Sylvester Onoyona is elected into the House of Representatives, Isoko nation would be better.

HRM Johnson Egbo Ewhiri prayed further for Dr Onoyona’s success ans also called on all Isoko people to support him with a view to achieving positive change.

Chief Engr Eric Erute, the President General of Emede Community commended Dr Sylvester Onoyona for coming out to contest for the House of Representatives in the coming election.

He urged all Emede sons and daughters both at home and in diaspora to support and vote for Dr Onoyona.
