Gunmen kidnap Akeredolu’s former aide, demand N100 million ransom

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Mr Richard Omosehin, a former Senior Special Assistance to Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at his Igbekebo residence, in the Ese Odo Council area of the state.

A family source who confirmed the incident said the former governor’s aide was kidnapped on Friday.

He further stated that Richard was kidnapped at his private house by six gunmen who came to the community on a speed boat.

The family source further disclosed that immediately after the incident happened, people invited the police but they had whisked the man away by the time the policemen arrived at the place.

The monarch of Igbekebo town, Oba Simon Dabo, on a radio program, said the man called his wife from the den of the kidnapper, saying the abductors had demanded a sum of N 100 Million for the victim’s release.

When contacted, the state police command said searching for the victim had begun as well as an investigation into the matter.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmi Odunlami disclosed that actions were ongoing to release the victim unhurt.
