Osinbajo, Tinubu, other S’West APC leaders meet in Lagos over 2023

A meeting of South-West presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) conveyed by former Governors of Ogun and Osun states, Chiefs Olusegun Osoba and Bisi Akande, held Friday evening in Lagos.
The meeting which was called to streamline and resolve possible political grey areas among the aspirants was attended by Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Speaker House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as Ministers Babatunde Raji Fashola (Works and Housing) and Rauf Aregbesola (Interior).
Governors of Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos, and Osun States including APC National Secretary Otunba Iyiola Omisore were also in attendance as were some APC atalwarts from the region. The meeting was also to ensure electioneering campaigns devoid of hostility.

The South West APC Elders meeting with presidential, gubernatorial and National Assembly aspirants from the zone ended on a convivial note, as sources confirm that the leaders resolved that every aspirant has a right to contest.
Besides, the meeting, though behind closed doors also resolved that name callings and other personal attacks should no longer be encouraged by aspirants and their supporters.
According to an inside source, “the issue of betrayal was put to rest as the elders affirmed that everyone who desires to run for any political office whatsoever is not encumbered in any way at all.”
They commended the Vice President, being the highest ranking public officer from South West extraction for a job well done.
While stating that consultations with them would be a continuous exercise, the meeting admonished the aspirants to queue behind whoever amongst them eventually emerges as the party’s candidate, stating that the cohesion of the South West must be sancrosanct.
