Ghana names 27 to battle Nigeria

Ghana has named a 27-man team to battle with Nigeria in the first leg of the twolegged playoff matches for the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers ticket. Black Stars Coach Otto Addo invited four debutantes Felix Afena-Gyan (AS Roma), Denis Odoi (Club Brugge), Dennis Korsah (Hearts of Oaks), and Elisha Owusu (AAA Gent).

Addo also included Jordan Ayew who contracted COVID-19 as well as Mohammed Kudus and goalkeeper Richard Ofori that did not feature, due to injuries, in the recently held Africa Nations Cup in Cameroon.

Meanwhile Arsenal’s player Thomas Partey, in the absence of Andre Ayew, who is suspended, will captain the team against the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The Ghanian 27-man squad comprises four goalkeepers, four wingers, nine defenders, six midfielders, and four strikers. The Trumpet gathered.
