By Oviri Kelvin, Abuja

On Sunday, Galatasaray announced that they are currently in talks to sign Wilfried Zaha, the Ivory Coast national player, after his contract with Crystal Palace in the Premier League expired.

Zaha, who is 30 years old, began his career at Crystal Palace’s academy and has spent the majority of his professional career at the club, with a brief two-year stint at Manchester United.

During his time at Palace, he has played in over 450 games and scored a total of 90 goals.

Zaha has also represented the Ivory Coast national team 31 times since making his debut in 2017. Prior to that, he played for the England youth teams and made two appearances for their senior side before deciding to switch his international allegiance.

“Official negotiations have started with professional footballer Dazet Wilfried Armel Zaha regarding the transfer of the player to our club,” Galatasaray said through its verified social media handle.

Galatasaray recently secured their 23rd league title, which is a record-extending achievement for them, with their last title being won in the 2018-2019 season.
