Former Edo Speaker dumps APC

Former Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elizabeth Ativie has given low marks to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) saying that people no longer want them. She asserted that Nigerians are now clamouring for a third force.

She disclosed this while announcing her formal disengagement from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ativie, in her letter of resignation from the APC, addressed to the state chairman stated, “this letter is to convey to you that I have officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress party with immediate effect.

“The reason for my resignation is attributed to the current unresolved crises facing APC in Uhunmwode, Orhiommwon and the entire APC party in Edo State.

“Please accept the assurances of my highest regards.”

Addressing a Press Conference after she dropped her letter at the party’s secretariat in Benin, Ativie, said: “I resigned from the APC because of lack of internal democracy.

“As we speak Edo State APC has no female candidate from the Edo South Senatorial District for the State House of Assembly election in 2023. I want to tell my supporters to remain calm. In a couple of weeks. I will let the world know where I am moving to.”

In conclusion, she stated that Nigerians are tired of the old order whereby the APC and PDP hold sway. She stressed that there is a clamour for a third force to address the myriad of problems confronting the country.
