Former Chelsea playmaker, Cesc Fabregas, has divulged the reason behind his move to Serie B side, Como after seeing off a 3-year contract at Ligue 1 side, AS Monaco.

Fabregas, adored as one of the best passers of the ball, signed a two years contract this summer to unite with former Chelsea player, Dennis Wise, who happens to be the club’s Chief Executive Officer.
At 35, with his career about to shrivel, the former Arsenal and Barcelona star would have had clubs in top divisions that could have sought his services but his sudden move to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia continues to stir surprise.

However, the former Spanish international clarified that he could not resist the offer presented to him which is not limited to becoming a shareholder in the club but with other incentives attached.
“What convinced me most was the global project they proposed, to continue playing at a good level, to be a shareholder in the club, to live in a very nice city,” Fabregas told Marca.
He added that the location of the club is not far from Switzerland where his children can have a sound education while he looks towards becoming a coach.
“I think my family will be relaxed, it’s close to Switzerland, the children can go to a Swiss school, with a very good education and good foundation. Then I can prepare for a future as a coach,” he added.
Fabregas joined Monaco in a €9m move from Chelsea after winning two Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and 1 Carabao Cup.
In the three seasons he spent in Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard in his 198 appearances, assisted 57 goals while he found the back of the net 22 times.
