EFCC confirms Obiano’s arrest hours after handing over

The arrest of ex-Governor of Anambra State, Sir Willie Obiano has been confirmed on Thursday night by an official of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Sir Obiano was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on his way to Houston Texas few hours after handing over to Professor Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday.
A senior official of the EFCC confirmed the arrest of the ex-governor in a chat with news men at exactly 10.49 pm on Thursday night, noting that Sir Obiano was still in custody of the anti-graft agency.

The official, however, declined answering questions bothering on the reasons and details of the former governor’s arrest shortly after he handed over power to his successor, Prof Soludo
The Trumpet reported earlier that the official handing over of power between Obiano and Soludo on Thursday came with drama as the ex-governor’s wife, Ebele Obiano and Bianca Ojukwu, former beauty queen and widow of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Biafran leader, were having some unpleasant conversations that resulted in exchange of slaps.
Ex-governor Obiano was reported to have left the venue of the swearing-in ceremony in Awka shortly after the wife’s brawl with Bianca, when the crowd was yet to disperse.
