Ebonyi Residents call for extension of voters’ card registration

Residents of Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital, have called on the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to extend the voters card exercise to avoid disenfranchising thousands.

Some of people who spoke to The Trumpet on Friday, said they have been in the queues since two day now, but to no avail.

Madam Veronica Nwoba from Abakaliki Local government area, accused the Electoral umpire for not providing the necessary things for the exercise.

Also, in Ebonyi Local government, Mr John Item a resident of the area, said for the past three days now, he has been coming to be registered without meeting INEC officials on sight for hours.
