Delta to inaugurate three new technical colleges

Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has assured the people that the three new technical colleges in Asaba, Effurun, and Obiaruku would be set for inauguration on or before 29th May 2022.

Dr. Okowa, represented by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Festus Ovie Agas maintained that his administration was poised to finish all ongoing projects in the state before leaving on May 29th, 2023.

He disclosed this during an interaction with journalists at the site of the technical college in Effurun, Delta States after completing an on-site inspection and assessment visit to the colleges, alongside the Commissioner for Technical Education, Princess Shola Daibo, and other officials.

According to him, most of the finishings have been done, furniture for the classrooms, offices and hostels is already available, noting that arrangements are being made for the equipping of the school laboratories and workshops.

He stressed the State Government’s commitment to strengthening technical education in the state as a result of which, contracts were awarded for the construction of 10 new technical colleges out of which, three are almost set for commissioning, The Trumpet gathered.

He said, “In finishing strong, one of the things the Governor told me is his commitment to completing all on-going projects. I have come here today, I am really impressed, and am sure Deltans are impressed too. This is indeed a beautiful edifice.

“We were in Obiarauku yesterday and the work there is relatively in progress and if given the necessary support and push, we would achieve the 29th May deadline.

When I get back today I will tell the Governor ,I went, I saw and I am impressed.” He appreciated the Commissioner and management of the Ministry of Technical Education for rendering quality service and supervision in making sure that the work is being done.
