
The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has assumed a new dimension as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has written to the party national chairman, over a judgment order of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Abuja, on its recently held governorship primary in the state.
The Trumpet Newspaper gathered that INEC in the letter with Ref. No. INEC/DEPM/PDP/286/1/135 signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Anthony, asked PDP to take note of the judgment order of the Abuja court.
According to the letter dated July 18, 2022, INEC confirmed the receipt of the court order restraining it from accepting the party candidate from Delta State. The Trumpet Gathered
The Trumpet Newspaper had earlier reported that the court on Thursday, July 7, 2022, disqualified Sheriff Oborevwori, as the governorship candidate of PDP for the 2023 governorship election in Delta State.

Justice Taiwo in his judgement agreed with the plaintiff (Edevbie) that Oborevwori, ought not to be on the ballot for the 2023 governorship election for the PDP on account of supplying false and forged documents to the INEC in aid of his qualification for the governorship election.
