Dana Air refutes alleged flight to unknown destination

Dana Air has debunked insinuations that its aircraft with about 168 passengers flew to an unknown destination and had to return.

In a statement issued by its management, it urged members of the public to disregard the information it described as fake news, baseless and malicious, adding that it operates a mixed fleet of Boeing 737, a brand new bombardier Learjet 145 and Boeing MD83 aircraft with 143, 8 and 147 capacity respectively.

“While we accept the fact we had slight delays on all our flights on March 1-2, 2022 due to ramp congestion and fuel scarcity, there was no such incident.

“Our attention has been drawn to false statements circulating online about a Dana Air aircraft carrying about 168 passengers to an unknown destination and had to return.

“To set records straight, Dana Air operates a mixed fleet of Boeing 737, a brand new bombardier Learjet 145 and Boeing MD83 aircraft with a total capacity of 143, 8 and 147 respectively.

“While we accept the fact we had slight delays on all our flights on March 1-2, 2022 due to ramp congestion and fuel scarcity, there was no such incident. Dana Air will continue to operate in line with global safety standards and our customers and crew will continue to be at the heart of all our services.

“The general public is hereby advised to disregard the fake news as it is totally baseless and malicious,” the statement reads.
