Cristiano Ronaldo silences critics

Cristiano Ronaldo has taken football pundits and Manchester United by surprise as the Portuguese international scored a hat-trick against Tottenham to give the Red Devils a 3-2 win at Old Trafford.

The player’s performance has been a subject of discourse since moving from Juventus to Manchester United that is struggling to finish in the Champions League spot ahead of next season.

United have had a poor run of results and most recently against rival neighbor Manchester City that thrashed them 4 – 1 at Etihad. Despite not being selected for the game, football pundits and Manchester United legends, Roy Keane and Gary Neville lashed at the entire squad for their shameful outing, The Trumpet gathered.

Paul Ince had also lashed at the United forward when he described him as a selfish player who prides himself above his teammates.

According to him, Ronaldo easily gets frustrated if not given the ball and thinks the team is all about him.

Garth Crooks, a BBC pundit also labeled the United player as Irritating and a prima donna.

However, Ronaldo, 36, has once again displayed his trademark (CR7) with a hat-trick against Spurs since returning to Old Trafford.

Revolving in the radar of criticism, Ronaldo remains the highest goalscorer for United in all competitions this season.

United manager Ralf Rangnick described the performance of Ronaldo against Tottenham as his best since he took over the team in November last year.
