A fresh crisis has hit the All Progressives Congress (APC) less than 24 hours to it’s Special National Convention as the party’s national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and APC northern governor’s are at logger heads over preference for the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as consensus presidential candidate.
Adamu on Monday announced Lawan as the choice of the party contrary to the recommendation of the northern governors weekend that APC should consider it’s presidential flag bearer from among the southern aspirants.
Adamu made the announcement at the meeting of National Working Committee (NWC) on Monday in Abuja.
It was gathered that Adamu single handedly picked Lawan Adamu and told NWC members that he arrived at the choice of Lawan after consultation with President Buhari.
But some members of the NWC kicked against the unilateral decision and insisted other aspirants must be given a level playing ground to compete.

So, it is expected other presidential aspirants such as Bola Tinubu, Yemi Osinbajo, Kayode Fayemi, David Umahi Rotimi Amaechi will be allowed to contest the primary election with Lawan at the convention slated for Tuesday, at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
