Commercial Tricycle Operators handover suspected kidnappers to Police in Delta

Commercial tricycle (Keke) riders in the early hours on Wednesday’s, July 20, 2022) handed over two suspected kidnappers to operatives of the Delta State Police Command at Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.
The incident that happened about a few minutes before 8:00 am on Wednesday morning saw the suspects trying to compel a woman to come out of her car into their operational tricycle beside a first-generation bank(name withheld) near Urhobo College in Effurun.
The woman eventually raised the alarm which made the third suspect who was pointing a gun at her flee the scene in their operational tricycle, while the two suspects were unlucky as they were chased and handed over to policemen at the nearby bank who shot into the air to scare and prevent the suspects from being set ablaze.

The suspects have been transported to the Delta State Police Command Headquarters in Asaba, while the Divisional Police Officer of Ugberikoko Police Station, Muktari Bello said the suspects were arrested six months ago for attempting to snatch a commercial tricycle in Warri and later escaped before they were re-arrested on Wednesday.
Reacting to the development, Comr. Eugene Onovughe, the chairman, of Warri/ Sapele Road Commercial Tricycle Operators, said that the arrest has shown that registered tricycle operators in Warri and Effurun are not responsible for criminal activities in the state.
