Head coach of Abia Warriors, Imama Amakapor, has parted ways with the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club at the expiration of his contract, The Trumpet reports.
Explicably, Amakakpo in the first year of his two-year contract, led the club to a fourteenth place finish, two steps above the 2019-2020 season’s 16th position before he took over the squad.
A statement by Nwosu Chigozie, Media Officer of the club, confirmed that the management parted ways with the football gaffer on the expiration of his two years contract.

He said, “The management of Abia Warriors Football club has announced that it has parted ways with Coach Imama Amakapor after the expiration of his two-year contract.”
“The club has thanked him for the services rendered and wish him well in his future assignment,” Chigozie added.
Abia Warriors last season, finished in 13-place, having maintained a five-match unbeaten run following a loss to NPFL champions Rivers United on June 12, 2022.
Following the club’s last season’s performances in the 38-match fixtures, they won 13 games, drew 11 and lost 14 to garner a total of 50 points.
