Chelsea considering possibility to sign Osimhen

Oviri Kelvin, Abuja

Chelsea is harboring ambitious hopes of securing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen in the near future as they continue their quest for another forward.

In the past year, Chelsea has undergone significant changes, with the recent summer transfer window adding to the flurry of player movements. Several stars departed to streamline the squad, followed by new arrivals funded by the club.

A persistent issue for the west London team in recent years has been the absence of a prolific goal-scoring presence, something they’ve lacked since Diego Costa’s era. Their latest attempt, a nearly £100 million move for Romelu Lukaku, hasn’t yielded the desired results.

This summer, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson were brought in with the hope that they would provide the clinical finishing Chelsea has lacked.

However, after just four league games, this hasn’t materialized due to Nkunku’s injury and Jackson’s inability to convert chances.

While the return of Armando Broja from injury could make a difference, speculation abounds about potentially adding a striker in the January transfer window. Brentford’s Ivan Toney is among the names linked to a possible winter switch.
