Catholic Priest Kidnapped in Kaduna

The Catholic diocese of Kafanchan has announced the kidnapping of one of it’s Priests; Reverend Fr. Joseph Danjuma Shekari.

A release by the Diocese’s Chancellor, Rev.Fr. Emmanuel Okechukwu Okolo which stated that “the sad event occurred last Sunday night, at about 11:30pm,” disclosed that the Clergyman was abducted from his residence at St. Monica’s Parish in kaura local government area, Kaduna State.

The Chancellor urged Christians, particularly Catholics, not to take the laws into their hands but rather “use every legitimate means to ensure his quick and safe release”.

Against this backdrop, Rev. Okolo implored the faithful to begin intense prayers for the immediate release of the Priest in the hands of his abductors.
