Chinese Cultural Centre in Nigeria (CCCN) is partnering with the FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) to improve students’ mental health and physical fitness through sports. A statement by the centre in Abuja disclosed that it has successfully, launched Chinese sports called “Baduanjin qigong,” at the Government Secondary School in Jabi, Abuja, with the help of FCT Education Board.
The spokesperson of the Centre Mr. Wang, who signed the statement, added that the sports will help the students fight off mental illness and also improve their physical fitness. In his address of welcome at the occasion, the Head of Delegation, FCT Secondary Education Board, Mr. Yakubu said the sporting activities will help the students tremendously, The Trumpet gathered.
He noted that physical fitness is important in maintaining alertness and mental wellness. The CEO of Eastern and Western Hospital, Dr. Andy enlightened the students on the benefits of Baduanjin qigong.

According to him, “Baduanjin helps to ameliorate mental health conditions including improved mood, decreased stress reaction, and decreased anxiety and depression”. While introducing the new initiate, mostly students, who are new to the sport, the medical experts admonished them to take Baduanjin, very seriously.
