Brazilian Pele Discharged from Hospital

Football all-time great, Brazilian Pele has been discharged from the hospital after undergoing treatments for colon tumour and Urinary Tract Infection(UTI).

Pele on February 13, was admitted in Sao Paulo’s Hospital to treat a tumour in his colon and eight days after, the doctors discovered he had a UTI and this resulted in his prolonged stay at the hospital.

The three-time World Cup winner had earlier been admitted to undergo chemotherapy in an intensive care unit in September 2021 after he was diagnosed to have a colon tumour.

However, the hospital has treated him released an official statement to confirm that the 81 years old is medically stable.

Its statement reads: “The patient is in stable clinical condition, already cured of his urinary tract infection, and will continue treatment for the colon tumour, identified in September 2021.”

For the records, Pele is among the only 4 players to score in 4 FIFA World Cup events and also the highest goal scorer for the Brazilian national team with 77 goals in 92 appearances.
