The Edo State-based club in the presence of the Deputy Governor of the State, Rt. Hon Philip Shaibu, who was available to cheer the team to victory, did not fail to humble their challengers convincingly.

In their run for the promotion ticket to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), the Vipers having lost to Adoration FC in April, reignited their push to maintain a 9-match unbeaten run until the season ended in July, including battering close contender Gateway United 4-0.
Succinctly, their performance against the Northern side in Abuja is an extension of the outstanding feat accomplished last season in the second tier.
