Kaduna residents have said the 2023 general election may not hold in the state if bandits’ attacks and kidnapping continue.
They vowed not to come out, to vote for any politician so long as terrorists continued to attack them.
Dr Musa Abilewa who works with the State Ministry of Health told Trumpet Newspapers that many residents in the state now live in fear as their movement is being restricted.
According to him, ” if bandits’ attack continues till 2023, many residents may be afraid coming out to vote as they may not know, when and where terrorists may attack.
Juliana Moses, a market woman said she could no longer go bush markets in the state, for fear of attack, she said if the security operatives failed to curtail frequent attacks in the state, nobody, would come out to vote for any candidate, no matter the level of experience and competency.
Josephine Adejor, whose sister was one of the Abuja–Kaduna train victims, said she has no trust in any politician since the All Progressive Congress (APC) government failed Nigerians.

According to her, she thought the Buhari government would be the best, but it became the worst, noting that bandits and criminals attack has become the Hallmark of the government with little or no strength to confront the rising cases of banditry.
“My sister who was Kidnapped over six months ago, was recently released after paying ransom through our nose. I don’t think I will finish paying back the loan I collected in two years.” She said
According to her, even if bandits’ attack continues or not, she has no trust in any politician to exercise her voting rights in 2023.
Although the Kaduna State Government and security operatives have intensified efforts aimed at eliminating bandits’ attacks in the state, it is, however not certain if it will yield the needed results going by the rising cases of bandits’ attacks in the state.
Kaduna police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mohammed Jalige, did not pick his calls to confirm their readiness for the 2023 general election.
