By Alex Olise

As part of efforts to avert the spread of unrest that occurred in neighbouring Sokoto State over alleged blasphemy that led to the murder of Deborah Samuel, a female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, the Zamfara Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkanah held a peace-building meeting with all the religious leaders and other stakeholders at the Police Command Headquarters, Gusau.

Addressing the meeting, the CP expressed appreciation to all the religious leaders and other stakeholders for working assiduously to ensure that the State did not witness any breach of peace as a result of the Sokoto incident.

He urged them to sustain the tempo by constant preaching religious tolerance and respect for one another. The CP further called on parents and guardians to ensure proper monitoring of their wards, especially the use of Social Media to checkmate their daily activities.
