Bagudu approves payment of leave grants to Kebbi workers

The Joy of public servants in Kebbi state, yesterday known not bound, as the governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, granted approval for the immediate payment of leave grants.

This, as noticed by The Trumpet, was followed with the release of over N2 billion which our state correspondent gathered to be for the payment of two years leave grants for the Staff of State, local government and local government education authority.

The approval and the release of the fund were contained in a statement yesterday made available to media men in Birnin-Kebbi, by the commissioner of Finance Ibrahim Muhammad Augie.

The state government under the leadership of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the statement said, had regularly met its obligations on human resource entitlements for its serving and retired workers.

Stressing that the governor is “among the few elite states with the best track records on staff welfare and development” all salaries, pensions, gratuity, leave grants, promotions, advancements and training, the commissioner said, “have been regularly maintained by the administration from inception in 2015 to date.”

He beckoned at workers in the state to complement the government’s efforts by putting their best in the places of primary assignments.

Elated by the gestures some council workers who bared their minds to The Trumpet, said the money would go a long way in addressing some of their challenges.

The leave grants to be paid, The Trumpet learnt is for both the year 2021 and 2022.
