With the summer window due to come to an end soon, Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has decided to join Chelsea, a move that counters his earlier decision insisting he wanted to remain in Camp Nou.
According to a report disclosing the sudden twist of events, Aubameyang’s move to Stamford Bridge will see Marcos Alonso fused in as part of the deal.
Barcelona have never hidden its interest to sign Alonso to Catalunya with the player insisting on a move that would see him get closer to his family in Spain. Though Chelsea were not obliged to it, the need for the Gabonese would see the Blues concede to Alonso’s move.
Reportedly, Chelsea and Aubameyang’s representatives met on Thursday where the latter in clear terms assured the former that the 33-year-old, who joined the Catalans from Arsenal in January, is willing to move to Stamford Bridge.

Accordingly, guaranteed by Gabonese representatives of the player’s willingness to switch to the west London club, Chelsea have formally tendered a bid allegedly in the region of £15m plus Alonso.
Moreover, Chelsea’s offer falls below Barcelona’s value for the player reported to be at £20m but the inclusion of Alonso to the deal, a player Blaugrana have been courting all this while, would see them have a rethink.
Ultimately, should Barcelona concede to Chelsea’s proposition for the former Arsenal point man, who scored 92 goals in 163 appearances for Gunners in 3½ seasons, it would trigger a negotiation for his personal terms.
Meanwhile, in a press conference on Friday at Cobham, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said the club is active in the summer transfer market to sign high-quality players that befit his squad.
“We are still active in the market and know what can be possible,” Tuchel said.
“We are looking for high quality and personality that suits our group and squad,” the German coach noted.
Tuchel added that the present Chelsea team is formidable but that depends on the number of matches the depth of the squad can process within a period of time.
He said, “I believe we can compete with this group, but it’s one thing to compete once a week and it’s another to compete 60 times a year and three times a week,” Tuchel added.
Prior to Aubameyang’s move, a snippet divulged that Chelsea’s left-wing-back Alonso has already agreed to personal terms with Barcelona which further inclines the Gabonese’s move towards Chelsea.
